Rascal was dumped and found our home in June 2005. He was already at least 3 years old. He loved us for 12 1/2 years and became my shadow over the years. He was my snuggle buddy. He stated as a little brown dog and ended as a little white dog.
I had to kennel him for the first time last week to go to a family funeral. When I returned 8 days later I found him horribly dehydrated and weak. I took him to my vet the next day and found out he was in renal failure. Sadly, I had to leave him for IV therapy as a last ditch effort to save his life but he passed last night. I'm beyond heartbroken. My side is now cold as my little man is no longer there to keep it warm.
