NoNo was the first dog I had from puppy to adulthood. That day we got him, my dad and I had no intention of getting a dog. We went to the pet store for some other reason and we say they were doing pet adoptions. I didn't even have time to look over the bunch cause this little black puppy came right up to me. That was it, he picked me. When we brought him home that night he roamed around the house looking at everything. Then as he went into the kitchen he found the trash bags on the ground. Inside he found an old beer can and immediately began to drink what little was let in it. That should have been a sign for things to come. When it came to picking a name we went through a few options. But he was a mischievous dog so my dad had to keep telling him, "no no, bad dog." Well, he began to think that was his name, so it became just that. As the years went on, NoNo grew and grew, and with that so did his personality. He did eat dog food, but he also became fond of human food and would steal off a plate of you didn't watch it. He would eat things they tell you is not for dogs, but yet he never got sick once. He was becoming more human than animal. NoNo watched as so many children he loved became adults, and as the years went on he began to show sign of aging. However, even when the doctors told us his hips were old, his eyesight wasn't was it use to be, NoNo never gave up. He would walk around the yard like he was young pup again, of course, he wasn't as fast as he once was...but try telling him that. Even in his final days when it looks like he might not make it to the next day, he would stand up and be like, "See, nothing wrong. I'm still the same NoNo!" Sadly, the day came when his mommy had to do the hardest thing a dog mom can do. Even though NoNo soul has left this earth, he's now in heaven with best friend Kirby. I can picture her waiting for him and saying, "I missed you ol' friend, let's go play." We all love you NoNo, and I can't wait to see you again brother.
