Max was the best thing I ever got for free. He was a farm kitten we spotted in the local paper and picked up for free, at the time his name was Brother. I fell in love with him. He was the smartest, gentlest, most beautiful cat you could ever meet. In the 7 years I was blessed enough to be his mommy, I never heard him hiss, and I never saw him swat or scratch anyone. He was the definition of love. He loved to snuggle and be pet and held. He was playful and could jump from the floor to the top of the fridge in one leap. He was the fluffiest and softest cat I've ever touched. He taught me what unconditional love is, and even though I wasn't perfect in taking care of him, he loved me anyway. He would sit in the bathroom and rub up against me and purr while I was so sick when I was pregnant with my daughter. He was as human as an animal can get, and I know I was the lucky one for getting to have him. I miss him every day. I can't believe it's almost been a year.
