Jamie was my first dog. He was a ten year old Yorkie that I adopted October 15, 2011. He was a tiny but strong dog. He walked to the sliding door at Peaceful Passings rescue to make himself known. He chose me. He was feisty and full of life. He was so sweet and intelligent. He was quite beautiful and delicate looking. Yet, he was always in control. Later on, he battled any obstacle in his path, overcoming one health issue after another. He changed my life and made me a better person. Jamie passed away in spring 2015. My heart broke and I still think that I'll wake up to him. It was the first time that I ever truly mourned. I did not want another dog to go through loss again. Jamie put it in my heart to reach out and adopt another senior. I adopted a senior dog with cataracts and diabetes. Many senior animals don't get a second chance and Jamie was the one who gave me a chance to be his mom. Jamie lives on forever in my heart and his memory will live on.
